Engineering College Description and Special Characteristics
The School offers four ABET-accredited undergraduate degree programs in Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering each emphasizing strong and rigorous technical curricula, combined with a broad liberal arts education. Additional programs include an Engineering Management degree, linking engineering studies with business, and a degree in Computer Science. A unique feature of all programs at Gonzaga University is the core curriculum which includes a thought and expression block with courses in English composition, speech and English literature, along with a well-structured sequence of four courses in philosophy and three in theology. The strong and rigorous technical curricula combined with the University core emphasizing communication skills, critical thinking, and ethics enable GU graduates to adapt to an ever-changing engineering, social, political, and business environment. In addition, an on-line Graduate Program in Transmission and Distribution has recently been added.
