Entrance Requirements and Recommendations
ODU admits students based on GPA, Curriculum and Test Scores (SAT or ACT is accepted) for students with fewer than 12 hours of college level work. Applicants from High School should have followed a college-preparatory curriculum with at least (16) academic units. Students who are admitted have an average (3.25) GPA and a (1060) SAT. Others are admitted to this category based on a sliding scale to allow for higher test scores with lower GPA's and the reverse. Students admitted with distinction must have a (3.4) GPA and a (1180) SAT or (26) ACT. College entrance examination scores from the SAT or the ACT. Scores are required from all freshman applicants who have graduated from high school within the last two years.
English: 4 years. Natural Sciences: 3 years. Mathematics: 3 years. Social Studies: 3 years.
Foreign Language: 3 years same language or 2 years, two different languages.
