Admissions Information

Graduate Admission to the College of Engineering

For admission to the Departments of Engineering and Computer Science the GRE General Test is required. A bachelor's degree equivalent to the Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or the B.S. in computer science at Baylor University or the B.A. in computer science at Baylor with calculus II and linear algebra is the standard requirement for admission. For those applying with less than the standard preparation, the quality and adequacy of the admission record will be evaluated by the Graduate Committee of the Departments of Engineering or Computer Science after reviewing the application for admission. Requirements which must be met before admission will be determined by that committee.These requirements will be in addition to requirements for the M.S. degree.

Graduate Admission to an Engineering Department

Admission is based on undergraduate academic record, the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), and letters of recommendation for the candidate.

Entrance Requirements for Foreign Students

International applicants must submit an official TOEFL score of at least 575 on the paper-based test or 225 on the computer-based test (unless their native language is English or they have completed at least a year of work in a United States high school or college). Internet-based minimum score is 90. Minimum score on the IELTS is 6.7. Minimum score on the PTE is 63.

Entrance Requirements for Non-Resident Students

No residency requirements for admission.
