Entrance Requirements for Foreign Students

To be considered for admission, an international student must submit: 1. International Student Application. 2. Official academic transcripts for all secondary and postsecondary education. 3. Official score report for Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). 4. Financial certification form/supporting financial documentation. 5. Application fee of US $20.00

Entrance Requirements for Non-Resident Students

All applicants to SDSU must submit an admissions application, a $20.00 application fee, high school transcript, and an official report of ACT. All transfer applicants must also provide official college transcript(s). H.S. students must have C or higher in 4 years of English, 3 years of Social Science, 1/2 year Fine Arts, 1/2 year of Computer Science. They must also have 3 years of lab science and 2 years of advanced math OR 2 years of lab science and 3 years of advanced math.

Residency Requirements

In order to establish residency for tuition purposes you must line in South Dakota for twelve consecutive months immediately preceding the first scheduled day of classes of the semester. Attendance at a college or university controlled by the Board of Regents does not count in determining the twelve month period of residence.

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

Must have a 2.0 or higher cumulative grade point average. Must be in good standing with their most recently attended school. If over 21 and under 24 must have successfully completed semester credits and must also meet the high school requirements.
