Admissions Information

Graduate Admission to the College of Engineering

Applicants must apply for admission to the University Graduate School six weeks prior to the registration date, a $60.00 online application fee ($75 for international students) is required along with a statement of purpose, and official transcripts for all previous universities attended. Regular admission may be granted to applicants who: 1) have earned a baccalaureate degree from an institution accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology or the Computing Sciences Accreditation Board, and 2) have an overall grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or at least 3.0 for the last 60 hours completed.

Graduate Admission to an Engineering Department

The College of Engineering departments conform to the admission requirements established by the Graduate School. Other appropriate requirements may be established by the individual engineering departments.

Entrance Requirements for Foreign Students

International applicants are encouraged to apply for admission at least 6 to 8 months in advance of the intended semester of enrollment. In addition to the application, applicants must submit an application fee of $75, statement of purpose, GRE, transcripts and degree certificates and either TOEFL or IELTS.

Residency Requirements

Master’s degree students are normally enrolled continuously full-time for a minimum of two semesters. Doctoral degree students are required to be enrolled continuously during the second or third academic year.

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

Applications for transfer students will be reviewed by the department on a case by case basis.
