Degree Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Requirements

The bachelor's degree is offered in the following fields: architectural eng. (128 hrs.), biological systems eng. (127 hrs.), chemical eng. (128 hrs.), civil eng. (128 hrs.), computer eng. (129 hrs.), computer science (124 hrs.), construction science and management (124 hrs.), electrical eng. (129 hrs.), electronic and computer engineering technology (126 hrs.), industrial eng. (127 hrs.), echanical eng. (127 hrs.) and mechanical engineering technology (127 hrs.).

Master's Degree Requirements

The master’s degree is offered in the following fields: architectural eng., biological and agricultural eng., chemical eng., civil eng., computer science, electrical eng., industrial eng., mechanical eng., nuclear eng., operations research and software eng. Master’s with thesis or coursework only require 30-36 hours and require a GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale. Thesis may be completed in absentia. Master's students need not be continuously enrolled, but must be enrolled during the semester in which they intend to graduate. Residency requirements vary by department.

Doctoral Degree Requirements

A Ph.D. is offered in the following fields: biological and agricultural eng., chemical eng., civil eng., computer science, electrical eng., industrial eng., mechanical eng. and nuclear eng. GPA requirement is 3.00 on a 4.00 scale. Credit hours required for degree is 90. Dissertation may be completed in absentia. Master's degree in engineering not required. Students admitted to Ph.D. programs must complete a year of full-time study in residence at KSU during which they must complete at least 24 hours. Ph.D. candidates must be continuously enrolled during the completion of their degree.
