Undergraduate Admission to the College of Engineering

College of Engineering Admission Requirements for First Year Students -- An SAT minimum quantitative score of 550 or an ACT minimum mathematics score of 24 or completed College Algebra with a grade of C or better (no C-).

Undergraduate Admission to an Engineering Department

Upon satisfactory completion of required prerequisites courses (determined by the Academic Department) students may declare their major and gain admission to an Engineering Department. These requirements are outlined in the undergraduate catalog at http://ugs.usf.edu/catalog/.

Entrance Requirements for Foreign Students

To be considered for admission, international applicants (non-resident aliens) must submit a USF International Student Applicaton for Admission, a non-refundable application fee of $30.00 payable in U.S. dollars, a TOEFL score if applicable, a Statement of Financial Responsibility, undergraduate admissions test scores as specified for appropriate applicant category, transcripts showing subjects and grades from the first year of secondary work to the time of application, and a Visa Clearance Form if currently in the U.S.). Transcripts in a language other than English must be accompanied by a certified English translation. An international applicant (non-resident alien) must meet all admission requirements for the appropriate applicant category (freshman, undergraduate transfer). Residency Requirements

Residency For Tuition Purposes-- To be classified as a resident for tuition purposes a student shall have established legal residence in Florida and shall have maintained legal residence in Florida for at least twelve months immediately prior to his or her qualification.

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

College of Engineering Admission Requirements for Transfer Students--
(1) Admitted to USF as a degree seeking student and (2) Completed Calculus I, Calculus II, and Calculus-based Physics I plus lab with a grade of C or better (maximum 2 attempts to earn required grade). Additional requirements must be satisfied in order to gain department admissions. These requirements are outlined in the undergraduate catalog at http://ugs.usf.edu/catalog/.
