Degree Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Requirements

College of Engineering B.S. degrees are 120 - 131 credit hours, depending on the major. All undergraduate students must maintain a grade-point average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher in university, cumulative, and engineering requirements. Master's Degree Requirements

All Master degree programs (thesis and non-thesis) require 30 credit hours and a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher. Additional information is available in the university graduate catalog at http://www.grad.usf.edu/catalog.php.

Doctoral Degree Requirements

The degree awarded in recognition of demonstrated scholarly competence and ability to conduct and report original and significant research. The length of residency and the requirements below are minimums; departments/programs may elect to establish more rigorous requirements. A minimum of 72 credit hours of coursework beyond the bachelor's degree, including a minimum of 20 credit hours of dissertation research, and a minimum of 30 credit hours of coursework is required.
