Admission to the College is competitive. Students are admitted to the College once they have completed the gateway requirements of their respective program.

Undergraduate Admission to an Engineering Department

Admission to Departmental programs in the College is contingent upon meeting GPA and gateway requirements of their respective program.

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

Transfer students in Engineering and Information Technology programs must satisfy UMBC admissions requirements as well as the gateway requirements for their respective program. Students will be admitted into respective programs based on the gateway GPA, where applicable and additional coursework that is included for transfer credit.
