Admissions Information

Graduate Admission to the College of Engineering

Application for admission to graduate programs should be made online at One original and official transcript from each college or university attended must be sent directly to the Graduate Admissions Office by the issuing institution, and received by the date specified on the application form. In addition to the noted Admission requirements, applicants possessing a B.S. degree that was conferred outside the U.S. must have an official general evaluation completed of their transcript, including cumulative GPA and evidence of a four-year Bachelor's degree. Graduate Admission to an Engineering Department

In addition to the general requirements, individual departments may have other admission criteria, i.e., GRE score, work experience, letters of recommendation. Note: Program requirements may change after publication of this admissions information.

Entrance Requirements for Foreign Students

The entrance requirements are the same, regardless of the citizenship of an applicant. The test of English of a foreign language (TOFEL) or the International English Language Testing Systems (IELTS) exam (applies to non US citizens or those students who have received a degree outside the United States. All applicants with degrees from Universities outside the United States must submit a transcript evaluation report from Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) or World Education Services (WES). The report must include a course by course evaluation which will verify a GPA based on a 4.0 scale, and the U.S. equivalence of each educational credential.

Entrance Requirements for Non-Resident Students

The entrance requirements are the same, regardless of the residency of an applicant.

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

All students are admitted as new students. Transfer credit is accepted after enrollment; maximum of 9 quarter units or 6 semester units of graduate level coursework to be approved by the student's academic advisor. Transfer units must not have been used for a previously conferred degree.
