Entrance Requirements for Foreign Students

International students must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Applicants must have the Educational Testing Service (E.T.S.) report TOEFL scores directly to the Office of Research and Graduate Studies. A minimum score of 580, with the distribution listed below, is normally required on the TOEFL: Listening: 56; Structure and Written Expression: 60; Vocabulary and Reading Expression: 60. For the computer-based TOEFL test, the minimum score should be 237, with the following distribution: Listening, 22; Structure & Writing, 22; and Reading, 25. Internet based minimum scores are 92 total, with the following distribution: Reading, 26; Listening, 22; Writing, 22; and Speaking, 24.
