Degree Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Requirements

Complete all course requirements specified in a curriculum leading to a baccalaureate degree. Complete university requirements (curricular requirements and General Education). Earn a minimum of thirty semester credit hours through regular course enrollment at this university. Earn a cumulative point-hour ratio of not less than 2.00 on all hours undertaken. Earn a cumulative point-hour ratio of not less than 2.00 on all credit hours taken in the student’s academic area.

Master's Degree Requirements

Minimum overall GPA 3.0/4.0. Minimum 30 graduate semester credit hours required, 80% must be completed at this university over a period of at least two semesters. Satisfactory completion of the master’s examination for non-thesis option students, or submission of the Thesis Approval form and electronic submission of the approved thesis by the published deadline for thesis option students. Completion of the master’s degree requirements established by the department graduate studies committee (specific requirements and options vary by program).

Doctoral Degree Requirements

Satisfactory completion of the candidacy examination. Completion of doctoral degree requirements within 5 years after being admitted to candidacy. Minimum of 80 graduate semester credit hours, at least 50 of which must be completed beyond the master’s degree. Completion of the following residency requirements after the master’s degree has been earned or after the first 30 hours of graduate credit have been completed:
• minimum of 24 graduate credit hours must be completed at this university;
• minimum of two consecutive pre-candidacy semesters or one semester and a summer term with full time enrollment;
• minimum of six graduate credit hours over a period of at least two semesters or one semester and a summer term after admission to candidacy.
Minimum overall GPA 3.0/4.0. Satisfactory completion of final oral examination. Submission of the approved dissertation and abstract. Completion of the Ph.D. requirements established by the department Graduate Studies Committee (specific requirements and options vary by program).
