Undergraduate Admission to the College of Engineering

The majority of Freshmen are admitted in the first semester of the freshman year.

Undergraduate Admission to an Engineering Department

Admission to the engineering department: Engineering students admitted to upper division engineering program at end of sophomore year. Additional information: Completion of a specified lower division engineering program with a GPA of at least 2.0/4.0. In addition, each program requires a grade of C for certain lower division courses. Space limitations may raise the minimum allowable GPA for some programs.

Admission to the engineering department: Most engineering students admitted to upper division engineering program at end of sophomore year. ITU dual diploma students are admitted at sophmore year. Additional information: Completion of a specified lower division engineering program with a GPA of at least 2.0/4.0. In addition, each program requires a grade of C for certain lower division courses. Space limitations may raise the minimum allowable GPA for some programs.

Residency Requirements

For in-state tuition students must establish a bonafide in-state residence for at least six consecutive months preceding admission. Students who live with bonafide in-state parents are also considered in-state residents.

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

Applicants are admissible in good standing, provided they have earned a minimum grade point average of 2.00 (C) in appropriate coursework at the previous accredited institution(s) attended. Only a grade of "C" or above is accepted in computer science, engineering, mathematics, and science courses. In addition, the university accepts only a grade of "C" or above in ENG 101 and ENG 102.
