Admissions Information

Graduate Admission to the College of Engineering

Applicants must meet graduate school and departmental admission requirements which includes having a baccalaureate degree in Civil, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Systems, or Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science from an ABET-accredited or comparable program with a 2.75/4.0 GPA in engineering, mathematics or physical science courses. A bachelor's degree in a related field may be acceptable for Civil, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Systems, or Mechanical Engineering, but the student should plan on spending additional time. Transcript and all required admission materials must be submitted no later than 30 days prior to the beginning of the term for which the domestic applicant is seeking admission.

Graduate Admission to an Engineering Department

Determined by the department graduate program director or department graduate admission committee following school of engineering rules and enrollment limitations.

Entrance Requirements for Foreign Students

International students must meet all of the admission requirements for domestic students, demonstrate proficiency in the English language, and provide certification that personally adequate financial resources will be available to undertake and continue in a program of study. A minimum score of 550 (paper based) or 213 (computer based) or 79 (internet based) on the TOEFL exam may be used to satisfy the English language proficiency requirement. The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) results also may be used to satisfy our English proficiency admission requirement. A minimum IELTS total band score of 6.5 is required. The GRE is recommended.

Entrance Requirements for Non-Resident Students

Same as resident students.

Residency Requirements

For in-state tuition a student must establish a bonafide in-state residence for at least six consecutive months preceding admission.

Transcript and all required admission materials must be submitted no later than 30 days prior to the beginning of the term for which the applicant is seeking admission. No more than one-third of total credit hours required may be transferred.
