Admissions Information

Graduate Admission to the College of Engineering

Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from a program that is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, or provide satisfactory evidenced of equivalent. Applicant must submit official undergraduate transcripts and official results of the quantitative and analytical portions of the GRE. Master's applicants with a bachelor's degree must have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 2.75/4.0. Doctoral applicants with a bachelor's degree must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.00/4.00. Doctoral applicants with a master's degree must have a cumulative graduate grade-point average of at least 3.5/4.0.

Entrance Requirements for Foreign Students

BSE degree or equivalent; applicant must hold a BS degree from a program that is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, or provide satisfactory evidence of equivalent. Applicant must submit official undergraduate transcripts and official results of the quantitative and analytical portions of the GRE. Applicants whose native language is not English must have a TOEFL score of at least 550 on the paper version or 79 on the internet version or an IELTS minimum score of 6.5. The applicant must also submit their score on the Test of Written English. MS applicants with a BS degree must have a cumulative gpa of at least 2.75/4.0. PhD applicants with a BS degree must have a cumulative gpa of 3.00/4.00. PhD applicants with a MS degree must have a cumulative gpa of at least 3.5/4.0.

Entrance Requirements for Non-Resident Students

Same admission requirements. For the Engineering-Applied Mathematics doctoral program, mathematics degrees are also accepted.

Residency Requirements

All doctoral students must have two consecutive semesters of full time enrollment during their doctoral study.
