Degree Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Requirements

Earn a minimum 2.0 overall grade-point average. Completion of the requirements in the appropriate list of courses and a minimum of 136 credits of course work. Achieve a 2.0 grade point average in all Engineering coursework attempted.

Master's Degree Requirements

Satisfy the academic requirements of the University and the following academic requirements of the College:
--Identify a three-member Advisory Committee including a major adviser before completion of 9 credit hours of oursework.
--Complete a formal Plan of Study that is acceptable to the Advisory Committee with a minimum of 24 credit hours of coursework of which no more than 6 credits are special topics courses.
--Successfully (no "fail" votes) defend the thesis before the Advisory Committee, or sucessfully complete the appropriate department's nonthesis option requirements, or have the engineering report approved by the Advisory Committee.

Doctoral Degree Requirements

Satisfy the academic requirements of the University and the following academic requirements of the College:
--Identify an interdisciplinary field of study, a dissertation director, and an Interdisciplinary Doctoral Committee (IDC) before completetion of 18 credits of coursework.
--Complete a Plan of Study (established by the IDC) that includes 96 credit hours total. The coursework in the Plan of Study varies from 36-48 credit hours.
--Pass a departmental Qualifying Examination.
--Satisfy the language requirement specified by the IDC.
--Pass a Candidacy Examination.
--Present and successfully (no "fail" votes) defend the dissertation to the IDC.
