Admissions Information

Graduate Admission to the College of Engineering

Students are admitted to the Graduate School based on a recommendation from the departments. Basic requirements are 3.0 grade point average and an engineering or related field degree. Most departments require a GRE. Application fee: $75.00 for US students, $85.00 for international students. Deadlines for admission for U.S. citizens are June 25 for the fall semester, November 25 for the spring semester, March 25 for the Summer Session #1, and May 10 for the Summer Session #2. Applications, official transcripts, and three letters of recommendation should be mailed directly to the Graduate School.

Graduate Admission to an Engineering Department

Entrance Requirements for Foreign Students

TOEFL scores of 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based) or 79-80 (internet-based) are required, with scores of 50 on at least two sections and no section score below 45. Internet-based tests require a minimum speaking score of 20. Or Provide International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scores with an overall band score of at least 6.5. Verification of the required funds to support the program and information regarding visa status are required.

Entrance Requirements for Non-Resident Students

Same as resident students.

Residency Requirements

A one year residency is required of all on-campus degree programs.

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

Only a limited number of transfer credits can be accepted from other institutions.
