Admissions/Transfers

Undergraduate Admission to the College of Engineering

Incoming freshman enter a degree granting program such as Computer Science & Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Engineering Physics, Environmental, Materials, or Mechanical Engineering. A minimum, overall, high school gradepoint average of 3.0 is required. Students are required to successfully complete specific courses (13.5 units), in addition to the fulfillment of graduation and GPA requirements, as listed. English (4 units), Mathematics (3 units), Social Studies (3 units), Natural Science (3 units) and Computer Literacy (1/2 unit).

Undergraduate Admission to an Engineering Department

Same as for the college.

Entrance Requirements for Foreign Students

Must meet the same admission requirements as in-state residents.

Entrance Requirements for Non-Resident Students

Must meet the same admission requirements as in-state students.

Residency Requirements

Transfer students must complete at least 32 credits of upper division course work in residence in order to obtain a degree from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

Transfer students should have at least a 2.50 GPA in those courses which will apply to their degree.
