Entrance Requirements and Recommendations


Undergraduate-Incoming freshman enter a degree granting program such as Computer Science& Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Environmental Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. A minimum, overall, high school gradepoint average of 3.00 is required. Students are required to successfully complete specific courses (13 units), in addition to the fulfillment of graduation and GPA requirements, as listed. English (4 units), Mathematics (3 units), Social Studies (3 units), Natural Science (3 units).


High School Preparation: Math through trigonometry, physics, chemistry one other science course, computer programming and four years of English. Advance placement calculus, physics or chemistry are valuable. Transfer Student Preparation: If more than 32 semester credits are transferred they should include calculus (8 credits), engineering physics (4 credits), chemistry (4 credits), and English (3 credits).
