Engineering Technology College Description and Special Characteristics

The ET programs are in the College of Applied Science and Technology which houses programs with the following characteristics: technology based, computing related, service management focus and/or interdisciplinary. The ET programs are in three separate departments with each chair reporting to the dean. The engineering technology programs are located in two buildings: A 33,300 square foot engineering technology building opened in April, 2008 with approximately 9,000 sf of newly renovated space in a second building. In addition, programs have laboratories in the Center for Integrated Manufacturing Studies (CIMS). CIMS is an RIT entity designed to work with improving manufacturing for small and mid-sized industries. Industry supports the ET units with many faculty consulting jobs and RIT based applied research.
