Undergraduate Admission to the College of Engineering

Students are admitted to the School of Engineering upon the completion of the first two years of the program (64 semester hours). Students must have at least a 2.7 GPA and a C or better in each course specified in the first two years of the program.

Residency Requirements

A minimum of 24 credit hours in GVSU engineering courses must be completed at the junior-year level or above. These courses must include the capstone senior design sequence. The last 30 semester hours toward a baccalaureate degree must be earned in GVSU courses. A minimum of 58 semester hours must be earned at a senior institution.

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

Students with more than 30 semester credit hours of college work are normally admitted to the University if their GPA is greater than 2.0. Transfer students must complete at least 8 hours of engineering coursework at GVSU before they can be considered for admission to the Padnos School of Engineering.
