Degree Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Requirements

The BSE program at GVSU requires 127-130 academic semester credits plus one year of cooperative education (9 semester credit hours). A student's plan of study must include a computer, electrical, interdisciplinary, product design and manufacturing, or mechanical program. The program is capped by an industry sponsored, two semester design project conducted by a multidisciplinary team.

Master's Degree Requirements

The MSE program at GVSU requires 33 academic semester credits, including a required project or thesis. The student selects one of five programs: (1) biomedical engineering, (2) electrical and computer engineering, (3) product design and manufacturing engineering, (4) manufacturing operations or (5) mechanical engineering. The program provides flexibility to meet the technical and professional development needs of practicing engineers and may include a one semester practicum in industry.
