Degree Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Requirements

The College of Engineering requires a minimum of 128 credits to graduate. Included in the 128 are the General Education requirements. Students may complete either the UI General Education or State Board of Education Core requirements based on their admittance to the University of Idaho.
Students who begin their education at the University of Idaho with fewer than 14 transferable college credits after high school graduation are admitted as first-year students and placed on the UI General Education requirements for the year in which they were admitted. Transfer students who have completed 14 or more transferable college credits after high school graduation may choose to complete either the UI General Education or the State Board of Education Core requirements.

Master's Degree Requirements

All master's degree programs require a minimum of 30 credits. The Master of Engineering Degree is a non-thesis degree, requiring 30-36 credits and a written and/or oral comprehensive examination.

Doctoral Degree Requirements

A minimum of 78 credits beyond the bachelor's degree is required, of which at least 33 must be in coursework other than research.
