Admissions/Transfers

Undergraduate Admission to the College of Engineering

Admission decisions are made on a rolling basis. College staff begin the co-op enployment search process for incoming students when they confirm their plans to enroll. Decisions are based on strength of preparation (must complete Math through at least intermediate algebra and trig and either chemistry of physics, both are recommended) grades, rank and test scores. A strong record of achievement is expected on academic criteria and in non-academic activities and experiences.

Entrance Requirements for Foreign Students

Kettering University welcomes students from foreign countries. The academic qualifications are assessed on the student's record of achievement in secondary school or university studies. International students are encouraged to present the results of the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or American College Testing (ACT). Students for whom English is a second language, or who did not attend a school where English was the language of instruction, are required to present the results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing Service (IELTS). Certified copies of transcripts/educational certificates and records with English translations must be filed with the application.

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

Transfer students who have pursued an equivalent program of full-time study will have their academic qualification evaluation based on their college record. A separate GPA is calculated for English, Math and Science coursework. Candidates who have not pursued full-time collegiate study and/or followed a program that does not include extensive math and science are evaluated on both their high school and college records and test scores.
