Graduate Admission to the College of Engineering

Must have earned a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution and meet the minimum standards of the Graduate School. Submit a completed online application, the application fee and have unofficial* transcripts of previous academic work sent to the Graduate School. *official final transcripts indicating degree earned are required for admitted and enrolled students.

Graduate Admission to an Engineering Department
MS in Chemical Engineering: A Baccalaureate degree in chemical engineering, bioengineering, chemistry, or a related discipline. Applicants should also submit a personal statement, resume, three letters of recommendation, transcripts and GRE scores.
MS in Mechanical Engineering: A Baccalaureate degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline. Applicants should also submit a statement of purpose, resume, 3 letters of recommendation, transcripts and GRE scores.
Master of Science in Computer Science: A Baccalaureate degree in computer science or a related discipline and a cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 out of 4. Applicants should also submit a personal statement, 2-3 page code sample, resume, three letters of recommendation, transcripts and GRE scores.
MS in Computational Electrical and Computer Engineering: A Baccalaureate degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related discipline. Applicants should also submit a statement of purpose.

Entrance Requirements for Foreign Student
Applicants for graduate study must have earned at least a US equivalent Baccalaureate degree, typically 16 years of schooling with four years of full-time study at the university level, culminating with the award of a first or second degree with the equivalent cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 2.75 out of 4. Applicants should submit: GRE general test scores, three letters of recommendation, and one copy of their academic record/transcript at the time of application. Applicants who studied in a country or institution where English is not the official language must submit proof of English proficiency. We accept unofficial score reports at the time of application. Minimum test scores for admission review are: TOEFL iBT 80; IELTS 6.5; PTE 54. We offer conditional admission to applicants with English scores below our minimum requirement. If you are admitted to Miami University, you must have an official final transcript from your Baccalaureate institution and all schools attended after receiving your Baccalaureate sent directly to the Graduate School in order to register for classes
