Degree Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Requirements

Undergraduate engineering students must successfully complete all of the courses required for the engineering degree sought. They must also achieve cumulative Overall and Technical grade point averages of at least 2.0 in their course work. At least half of all the engineering courses and normally, the final 30 credits of an engineering program must be taken at Villanova University.

Master's Degree Requirements

Candidates for the Master's degree must complete the courses prescribed by the chairperson of their major department. Depending on the program, 30 to 45 semester hours credit with a quality point average of 3.00 is required for the degree.

Doctoral Degree Requirements

Students with MS degree must complete a minimum of 18 credits of course work including at least one graduate level mathematics course; 30 credits of research; a qualifying exam. The student must defend a proposal of dissertation as well as a final dissertation defense. Students without MS degree must complete 42 credits of course work in addition to the research qualifying examinations and dissertation requirements mentioned above.
