Undergraduate Admission to the College of Engineering

University application form; For freshmen: high school transcripts, SAT or ACT scores, one school-related reference letter, one essay. For transfer students with substantial relevant college experience, only the college transcripts are required. Freshmen applicants for engineering should present a cumulative GPA of 3.3, a math GPA of 3.3 or better, and SAT scores of 550-verbal and 550-math minimum. Freshmen Application evaluation considers strength of schedule, math and science GPA, cumulative GPA, test scores, co-curricular activities, and recommendation(s).

Undergraduate Admission to an Engineering Department

The student may select (or change to) a specific Engineering program at the time of admission, or at any time thereafter.

Entrance Requirements for Foreign Students

All international students must submit official copies of their secondary school records. In addition to the regular admission procedures, international students are required to provide proof of English competence through the TOEFL test or GCE certificates from the University of London or equivalent. IELTS test scores can also be used for this purpose.

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

At the option of the University, students seeking admission with fewer than 30 semester hours of acceptable transfer credit may be required to follow the same admission procedure as entering freshmen, in addition to furnishing the University a transcript from the college attended. All applicants in Engineering are considered by the Dean of Engineering and, generally, a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 and an average GPA of 3.0 or better in mathematics is required.
