Admissions Information

Graduate Admission to the College of Engineering

1. Official transcript of all college work, both undergraduate and graduate, previously taken 2. Official scores for the appropriate entrance examination (GRE). For admission to the M.S. program with only a B.S. - a recommended combined score of 300 for the verbal and quantitative sections, for admission to the Ph.D. with a M.S. - a recommended combined score of 305, for admission to the Ph.D. with a B.S - a combined score of 310. 3. International applicants whose native language is not English must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL-Score of 550 in the written exam, 80 on TOEFL iBT or 6.5 on IELTS) 4. Statement of purpose and 3 letters of recommendation 5. Application for Admission and $70 application fee.

Graduate Admission to an Engineering Department

1. All departments have a graduate committee that determines the acceptance of the applicants 2. Applicants that do not have an engineering background/degree may be required to take deficiency courses

Entrance Requirements for Foreign Students

1. Official transcript of all college work, both undergraduate and graduate, previously taken in original language and certified English translation (course descriptions or subject studied accompanied by certified English translations) 2.Official scores for the appropriate entrance examination (GRE). For admission to the M.S. program with only a B.S. - a recommended combined score of 300 for the verbal and quantitative sections, for admission to the Ph.D. with a M.S. - a recommended combined score of 305, for admission to the Ph.D. with a B.S - a combined score of 310. 3. International applicants whose native language is not English must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL-Score of 550 in the written exam, 80 on TOEFL iBT, and and 6.5 on IELTS) 4. A current (within the past six months) bank or government sponsorship letter guaranteeing payment for tuition and fees, books, room and board, medical insurance and personal expenses for the length of study. 6. Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

1. Credits of B- are not acceptable for transfer.
2. Only six credits transfer in to the 30 credit M.S. program.
3. Credits that pertain to and have been counted toward another degree cannot be transferred.
