Entrance Requirements and Recommendations


The SAT or ACT is required along with a personal essay and an official high school transcript which shows the student's class rank, classes, and latest grades completed. A completed residency affidavit used to classify applicants as Connecticut or out-of-state students is also required. High school courses must include: English (4 years), Mathematics (3.5 years), Laboratory science (physics and chemistry) (2 years), and Foreign Language (2 years), Social Science (2.5 years) and Electives (2.5 years) totaling 16 units of work, with 15 in college preparatory work. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and SAT are required of all international applicants. Additionally, a certified translation of official documents is necessary when originals are not in English. A bank statement or financial statement is also required. Students classified as Permanent Residents must also supply a photocopy of their Alien Registration Card.


High school courses: Mathematics (4 years--Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Pre-calculus), Science (4 years--Chemistry and Physics included) and Foreign Language of a single language (3 years). Letters of recommendation.
Minimum Math SAT of 600 and combined Math and Verbal score of 1200.
ACT score of 28.
