Degree Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Requirements

In addition to fulfilling the general education requirements for the University and all quantitative and qualitative requirements of the various curricula within the College, a candidate for a degree must satisfy the following minimum requirements:

1. Earn at least a 2.0 adjusted cumulative average on all hours attempted at all colleges and universities. Some departments may have additional requirements.

2. Achieve within three attempts a minimum grade of "C" in all coursework applied towards the degree.

3. Satisfy all requirements of the degree program.

4. Must be registered in the major department and must earn in residence a minimum of 24 semester hours in courses in the College of Engineering of which 15 semester hours must be senior level courses in the major.

Master's Degree Requirements

To be eligible to receive the master's degree each student must:

1. Complete the specified general degree requirements.

2. A minimum of 30 hours above the bachelor’s degree is required for thesis option students or 33 or 36 for non-thesis option students depending on the program.

3. Satisfy the specific departmental requirements of the degree to which he/she aspires.

Doctoral Degree Requirements

To be eligible to receive the Ph.D. Degree each student must:

1. Complete the specified general degree requirements.

2. A minimum of 72 hours above the bachelor’s degree is required. At least 48 of these hours must be in coursework.

3. Complete an acceptable dissertation after being admitted to canidacy for the degree.

4. Satisfy the specific departmental requirements of the degree to which he/she aspires.
