Entrance Requirements and Recommendations


Admission is based on the strength of an applicant's high school background, including the degree of difficulty of courses selected, the record of academic achievement, special or unique accomplishments both in and out of the classroom, and the ACT or SAT I scores. In general, admission requirements include a "B" average or better (beyond the ninth grade) in a rigorous and appropriate college preparatory program, a personalized essay, teacher and counselor recommendations,and standardized test scores.


Successful completion of President's Council State Colleges and Universities recommendations in English (4 years), Math (4 years), Biological and Physical Sciences (3 years), History and Social Science (3 years), Foreign Language (2 years), Fine Arts (2 years) and Computer Literacy (1 year).
