Admissions Information

Graduate Admission to the College of Engineering

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college, with a minimum 3.0 GPA for the last 60 semester credits earned is required. The Graduate Record Exam (GRE) general test is required -- minimum of 40th percentile on the verbal test and on the quantitative test. The TOEFL may be required.

Residency Requirements

For Master's Degree Programs, students must have at least 24 credits in residence at Utah State University. For PhD Degree Programs, students must have a minimum of 33 USU credits. At least three semesters, two of which must be consecutive, of full-time registration in residency at USU are required.

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

Transfer students are required to meet the same admission requirements as other students. A transfer student in a master's degree program may transfer credit as long as the student meets the residency requirements and the transfer credit is approved by the student's supervisory committee and the graduate dean. A doctoral student may transfer credit as long as the student meets the residency requirement and the transfer credit is approved by the student's supervisory committee and the graduate dean.
