Undergraduate Admission to the College of Engineering

Same as institution admission requirements except for Computer Science which is an impacted program with special requirements.

Undergraduate Admission to an Engineering Department

Same as above.

Residency Requirements

Campus Requirements: At least 30 units must be earned in residence; at least 24 of the 30 units must be earned in upper division courses, 12 of the units must be in the major, and 9 of the units must be in General Engineering. Additional Engineering Program Requirements: At least 22 units in the engineering senior program must be earned in residence. Additional Computer Science program requirement: at least 18 upper division units, including 12 in the concentrated studies program must be earned in residents.

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

LOWER DIVISION TRANSFER REQUIREMENTS: (Note: The campus is currently not accepting lower division transfer students but previous requirements are listed for information purposes.) If you have completed fewer than 56 transferable semester (84 quarter) units, you will qualify for admission if you have a grade point average of 2.0 (C) or better in all transferable units attempted, are in good standing at the last college or university attended, and meet the admission requirements for first-time freshmen, i.e., you have completed with a grade of C or better each of the courses in the comprehensive pattern of college preparatory subject requirements and have a qualifiable eligibility index. If you did not complete all the subject requirements in high school, appropriate college courses may be used to make up the missing subjects. Nonresidents must meet the eligibility index for nonresidents.

Official transcripts of all college courses including work in progress must be postmarked or hand delivered to Admissions and Records by the due dates posted by Admissions and Records.

UPPER DIVISION TRANSFER REQUIREMENTS:
All upper division transfer students needs to:
* have completed a minimum of 60 transferable semester units (90 quarter units) with a grade point average of 2.0 or better (2.4 for non-residents)
* be in good standing at the last college or university attended
* have completed the CSU General Education Writing, Mathematics, Critical Thinking and Speech Communication courses with a C or better (students applying as Engineering or Computer Science majors do not have to complete Critical Thinking prior to admission
* submit all official college transcripts including Work in Progress to Admissions and Records.

Official transcripts showing completion of 60 units and the 4 basic subjects must be postmarked or hand delivered to Admissions and Records by the due dates posted by Admissions and Records.
