Other Student Support Programs

1) Numerous tutoring resources are available to the student, free of charge, through the Math, Reading and Writing Centers as well as the School of Engineering Tutoring Center. Other workshops/ programs are available through the Office of Academic Support Services.
2) Students experiencing academic difficulties have the option of registering with Academic Support Services which, through intensive coaching and counseling by a faculty or staff member, works with the student in developing strategies to successfully complete their university studies.
3) Disabilities Services serves as a campus advocate for students with disabilities and ensures that all students have an equal opportunity to access academic programs and other aspects of university life.
4) The student may choose to enroll as Engineering Undecided upon entering the School of Engineering. This allows the student to defer a choice of major until the end of the first semester of the freshmen year.
5) The Engineering Living Learning Community provides engineering students the opportunity to share common residential and academic experiences focused on developing knowledge about engineering through faculty-planned activities and events.
6) The Office of Student Retention and Success works closely with the academic divisions, student services, and the student body to promote academic and social success. The Office of Student Retention and Success support the Engineering Departments in monitoring the academic progress of freshman and upperclassmen in academic difficulty and referring students to the appropriate campus resources.
