Student Design Projects Description

Petroleum Engineering Capstone Design - Students engage in a team-oriented, integrated petroleum design project. The project will require team members to bring together information, techniques and approaches from a variety of petroleum engineering activities to arrive at practical solutions to realistic case studies. The culmination of the project will be a final written report and oral presentation evaluated by peers and industry personnel.
Electrical Engineering - All students complete a senior project. Recent successes include two unguided robotics vehicles which participated in the International Grand Robotics Competition, and a dual-mode electric vehicle (the Hybrid Hurricane). Both group projects received industrial and college sponsorship.
Mechanical Engineering - ME seniors design, build, test, and deliver working prototypes to real-world customers. Projects are sponsored by industry partners, donations, endowment funds, and the university. Projects often win local, state, and national awards and sometimes result in patents. Projects include hybrid-electric and other cars, devices for persons with disabilities, sports and recreational equipment, and manufacturing equipment for local industry.
