Admissions Information

Graduate Admission to the College of Engineering

Bachelor's or equivalent from an accredited undergraduate institution and demonstrated ability to pursue a program of study leading towards an advanced degree. Application materials include: application form, statement of purpose, official transcripts, three (3) letters of recommendation, TOEFL test (for international students), and GRE scores. Graduate Admission to an Engineering Department

Computer Engineering: GRE general test is required and strongly recommends subject test in Math or Physics. Computer Science: GRE general test is required and GRE Math test is strongly recommended. Statistics & Applied Mathematics: GRE general test is required and GRE Math test is strongly recommended. Electrical Engineering, Bioinformatics and Technology & Information Management: GRE General test is required, and an appropriate GRE subject test is recommended.

Entrance Requirements for Foreign Students

Same as admission for all students with the additional requirement of the TOEFL exam. A minimum score of 89 on the computer-based test for admission is required. The minimum acceptable score on the paper based test is 230. Students with a degree from an American or Canadian institution and who have lived in the United States for a number of years, may be eligible for a TOEFL exemption. Departments will automatically grant this exemption to admitted students who qualify.

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

Each department determines credit transferability for each applicant on an individual basis.
