Undergraduate Admission to the College of Engineering

Prospective engineering students are admitted to engineering programs or may enter as undecided engineering at the time of admission. In addition to requirements for entrance to the college, students planning to complete the engineering curriculum should have elementary and intermediate algebra, geometry, trigonometry, chemistry, physics, and four years of English. More advanced mathematics, although not required, will prove helpful.

No special departmental admissions requirements or restrictions.

Entrance Requirements for Foreign Students

Admission requirements for foreign students: TOEFL required of all international students for whom English is not the first language. Minimum score: 600 (written) 250 (computer). All freshmen and most advanced-standing students must start the academic program in September. Application deadline is January 15. Financial Statement required.

Entrance Requirements for Non-Resident Students

International students are required to submit the SAT or the ACT, and the TOEFL or IELTS if English is not the first language.

Residency Requirements

Transfer students are expected to complete two years of study at Union College to qualify for a Union degree.

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

Usually, a cumulative average of 3.0 or better is required. In making its decisions, the Admissions Committee leans heavily upon the work completed and upon the recommendation of the appropriate officials at the college presently attended.
