Admissions Information

Graduate Admission to the College of Engineering

Admissions are open to graduates from four-year programs at recognized colleges or universities. Additional requirements are:
1. One official transcript,
2. Three letters of recommendation,
3. GRE Examination
4. Statement of Goals
5. Resume/curriculum vitae (CV)

Graduate Admission to an Engineering Department

Applicants must meet the requirements determined by the desired department and be admitted by a committee consisting of faculty residing in that department.

Entrance Requirements for Foreign Students

Students whose native language is not English must score at least 550 on the TOEFL examination (Test of English as a Foreign Language), a 79 on the internet-based examination. In addition, applicants must meet minimum scores on each section of the TOEFL examination. Results of the TOEFL examination must be sent to the Graduate School.

Residency Requirements

Transfer students must comply with the same residency guidelines as those students that begin their career at this institution. Residency guidelines are explained below.

Resident Student: A person whose legal residence is permanently established in Colorado may continue to be classified as a resident student so long as such residence is maintained even though circumstances may require extended temporary absences from the state.

Nonresident Student: To become a resident of Colorado for tuition classification under state statutes, a student must be a permanent resident of the United States and must have been domiciled in Colorado for one year or more immediately preceding the first day of class for the semester for which such classification is sought. A person must be emancipated before domicile can be established separate from the domicile of the parents.
