Other Student Support Programs

In addition to the traditional orientation programs for incoming students, the School of Engineering provides a semester-long workshop sequence for first year students covering topics such as academic policies, engineering disciplines, campus support, career planning, professionalism and leadership development. The School administers an extensive tutoring and counseling program for all engineering students in both individual and group format. In addition, the School also teaches a course titled "Methods of Inquiry" which helps students develop academic strategies that they might not have been exposed to in high school. The School administers a number of pre-college programs for both incoming first year students and students from middle school to high school which focus on hands-on learning, academic preparation and career awareness.
