Undergraduate Admission to the College of Engineering

Graduate of an accredited high school, complete Core 40, or equivalent, including chemistry and 4 years of math, including trigonometry or pre-calculus, minimum SAT scores of 570 math and 540 verbal (as of March 2016) or minimum ACT scores of 24 math and 20 English.

Entrance Requirements for Foreign Students

Completion of secondary school, equivalent 3.0 CGPA, Must have minimum of B grades in MATH and Science courses, TOEFL of 500 (IBT 61), Financial Statement.

SAT scores are not required for admission unless an international student attended secondary school within the US or Canada. Otherwise, SAT or ACT scores are needed for scholarship consideration only.

Entrance Requirements for Non-Resident Students

Same as for residents.

The Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP) is a multi-state tuition reciprocity program. Through the MSEP, participating institutions agree to charge students no more than 150% of the in-state resident tuition rate for specific programs. All enrollment decisions are made at the discretion of the receiving campus and the campus may exercise its right to limit participation or set specific admission requirements for MSEP.

To be eligible for the award at IUPUI, a student must be a resident of Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, or Wisconsin. The student must also apply and be admitted (including conditional admits) to IUPUI as a nonresident, as well as enroll and attend classes on campus. Eligible students will be granted a Midwest Student Exchange Program award.

Note: Some nonresident students may qualify for resident tuition according to Indiana state law. Those students are not eligible for the Midwest Student Exchange Program award. Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) or undocumented students that are classified as nonresidents are not eligible for the MSEP award.

Residency Requirements

Must complete at least 32 credit hours for a Bachelors. At least 12 credit hours out of 32 must be at the Major or Junior level or higher.

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

Applicants must be in good standing and have a 2.0 (C) average from previous schools; also must have certain math and English courses from high school or college or test out of specified courses.
