Degree Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in all engineering programs require 128 to 131 semester credit hours. A grade point average of 2.0 or greater is required for graduation, as well as meet all additional academic requirements of the department offering the degree. At least one-half of the work required for the degree must be completed at Rowan University. Technical electives are available in each discipline. Summer Internship experiences are encouraged but not required for the BS degree.

Master's Degree Requirements

The Master of Science in Engineering requires 30 semester hours of graduate level courses and independent study. Each student is assigned a graduate adviser who must approve the student's program, subject to the guidelines of the University and the Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering. With the assistance of the adviser, students choose courses leading to one of the following areas of specialization: Biomedical; Chemical Engineering; Civil Engineering; Environmental Engineering; Electrical Engineering; Mechanical Engineering.

Doctoral Degree Requirements

The Ph.D. in Engineering requires 72 semester hours of graduate-level work. Of these 72 hours, 42 semester hours represent coursework while the remaining 30 hours will come from research/dissertation. Each student is assigned a graduate adviser who must approve the student's program, subject to the guidelines of the University and the Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering.
