Admissions Information

Graduate Admission to the College of Engineering

Application is sent to graduate school, but selection of applicants is made by department. Application fee is $75. Application deadline is Feb. 1 for following fall semester. GRE scores, transcripts, TOEFL/IELTS (for international students) and recommendations are required.

Graduate Admission to an Engineering Department

While each department has different selection criteria, generally the GPA should be higher than a 3.4/4.0, the GRE should be higher than 2000, and the applicant should have a solid undergraduate education. International students should have a TOEFL score of at least 80 on the internet version of the test or an IELTS score of at least 7.0

Entrance Requirements for Foreign Students

Foreign students are subject to the same entrance requirements as U.S. students, with the additional requirement of a TOEFL score above 80 on the internet version of the test or an IELTS score above 7.0.

Entrance Requirements for Non-Resident Students

Requirements are the same for all students.

Residency Requirements

M.S. candidates must be enrolled full time during the last semester of the degree program. Ph.D. candidates must be enrolled full time during the last four (4) semesters of the degree program.

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

Up to 6 graduate credits may be accepted from another institution. If the candidate has an M.S., the department admitting the student may accept up to 24 credits toward the Ph.D. All other requirements for new students also apply.
