Undergraduate Admission to the College of Engineering

Apply for admission to the College. There is no separate admission procedure for the School of Engineeering

Undergraduate Admission to an Engineering Department

Most students begin studies in September but students may be admitted in January, March, and June. Students with entrance deficiencies may be admitted; however, the deficiencies must be removed before the beginning of the sophomore year. Students who present a transcript of previous successful studies at another approved college or university may be admitted with advanced standing.

Entrance Requirements for Foreign Students

Must complete an application form. Complete financial analysis sheet with bank statement from student or sponsor verifying ability to pay expenses. A letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor. Certified copies of the secondary level certificate, with English translations is necessary. Certificate with passing marks are required from four, five or six year university preparatory school. Also passing scores in government examinations where offered. Official transcript of grades. TOEFL scores if English is not the first language. A $6000 deposit is necessary before an I-20 form is issued.

Residency Requirements

At least 40 of the last 45 credits must be on campus. A minimum of 25% of major credits must be taken on campus.

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

Transfer students with senior standing are required to be in residence for three quarters and must complete a minimum of 36 quarter hours, including a minimum of 9 quarter hours of upper division work in the major and meet all degree requirements.
