Other Student Support Programs

Every student accepted into UCF for undergraduate education is required to attend an orientation program (FTIC 2-day, transfer 1-day). This orientation is campus-wide and college/department specific. There is also a first year advising program which is mandatory for all first-year students. All Engineering and Computer Science students are encouraged to meet with their adviser each semester to plan their program of study and review their academic progress. The College of Engineering and Computer Science has a mandatory advising program for all students who are placed on academic probation. All students placed on or continued on probation must meet with the CECS Academic Affairs Office each semester before they register for classes. Additionally, the CECS Academic Affairs Office runs a mandatory academic alert program for all Engineering and Computer Science students who experience a significant GPA drop between terms. Other campus-wide support programs offered are: Academic Services for Student Athletes, Multicultural Student Services, and Student Academic Resource Center. The College of Engineering and Computer Science maintains a tutoring center for all engineering students. The Division of Student Development and Enrollment Services includes: Counseling Center, Housing and Residence Life, Center for Off-Campus Housing, Veterans Affairs, Student Disability Services, Student Government, Office for Greek Affairs, Student Activities/Student Union/ Student Organizations, Student Legal Services, Career Resource Center, Creative School for Children, Recreational Services, Student Health Services, Student Information, and Student Leadership Services.
