Admission to Engineering Technology College

Admission to the engineering technology department: At the time of admission to the institution. Beginning students are enrolled in a pre-engineering technology program upon admission to the University. They apply to a specific engineering technology program after satisfactory completion of a set of required courses.

Admission to an Engineering Technology Department

At the time of admission to the institution. Students declare an engineering technology major while in pre-engineering technology. Enrollment in junior or senior level engineering technology courses is contingent on admission to that engineering technology program. Requirements for admission to an engineering technology program include satisfactory completion of a set of required introductory courses.

Entrance Requirements for Foreign Students

TOEFL (Score: 550); MTELP (85%); TOEFL score can be 500 if student takes remedial English class during first semester. A 2.5 (C+/B-) GPA after grades are converted to a United States grading scale and a minimum score of 550 on the TOEFL examination. Students who have a TOEFL score of 500 to 549 are required to take two remedial English classes during their first semester of enrollment.

Residency Requirements

One-half of program must be from a four-year accredited institution. At least 30 semester hours must be from WMU.

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

At least a "C" average in 26 hours of transferable work. High school transcripts required if fewer than 26 hours will be transferred.
