Other Student Support Programs

Each student has an individual faculty advisor. In addition, the College of Engineering Undergraduate Programs Office is staffed with five counselors and provides a variety of support services to undergraduate students, including a weekly advising seminar required of all freshmen in the first semester and a tutoring program. All entering freshmen attend a two-day summer orientation program. Each academic department coordinates individualized graduate student advising. The College of Engineering Career Development Office assists with permanent job placement and coordinates a co-op/internship program that places undergraduate and graduate students in relevant positions in industry and government. In addition, Boston University provides support service to the entire student population through the Educational Resource Center, the Center for Career Development, the University Service Center, and Student Health Services, among others.
