Undergraduate Admission to the College of Engineering

Old Dominion University admits students based on GPA., curriculum and test scores (ACT or SAT is accepted)for students with fewer than 12 hours of college level work. Students who are admitted average a 3.4 GPA and a 1055 SAT (SAT score includes math & reading only). Students who qualify for regular admission to the University will be accepted into the Engineering Fundamentals Division.

Undergraduate Admission to an Engineering Department

Undergraduate admission to any of the of Engineering Departments follow the same requirements to the Frank Batten College of Engineering and Technology. All freshman students must complete the Engineering Fundamentals program before declaring a major in any of the departments in the college.

Entrance Requirements for Non-Resident Students

Admission requirements for non-resident students are the same as for in-state students.

Residency Requirements

A transfer student must earn a minimum of 30 credits at ODU. This must include six hours of upper level courses in the department of the declared major.

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

Transfer students with 12 hours or more must have acheived a 2.0 or "C" average on all college work. Grades below a "C" will not transfer.
