Admissions Information

Graduate Admission to the College of Engineering

To be considered for admission students are required to submit the following documents:
• A completed Graduate Application for Admission.
• A $45.00 non-refundable fee.
• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a degree in engineering, physics, math, or equivalent field. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is requested.
• Official sealed transcripts from all colleges and universities attended.
• Three recommendations are required, two from academic sources. Recommendations from family members or friends are not acceptable.
• A thousand word essay on academic/career goals, experience with and interests in research and development, readiness for graduate study, access to any external funding.
• A successful interview with program director.
• If English is not applicant’s first language a recent test score from TOEFL or IELTS is required.

Entrance Requirements for Foreign Students

Completed International Student Application for Admission.
$45 Non-refundable application fee.
Official copies of all academic records from colleges and universities, along with a certified English Translation if applying from a non-English speaking country.
Sponsor's Commitment of Financial Support Form
Proof of English Proficiency by one of the following: Internet Based TOEFL (minimum score of 71), Paper Based TOEFL (minimum 527), ACT English section (minimum 16), IELTS (minimum 5.5), Satisfactory completion of English Composition course.

Residency Requirements

A maximum of nine (9) graduate semester units may be accepted in transfer toward fulfilling degree requirements.
CBU does not accept transfer work that is not designated as degree-applicable by the issuing institution.

Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students

A transfer student may be required to submit a letter from the academic institution verifying they left in good standing.
