Student Projects

Student Design Projects Description

All seniors are required to complete a senior engineering design project. Projects involving civil, computer science, electrical and computer, engineering management, and mechanical engineering design are sought from both the private and public sectors throughout the year. Sponsors provide ideas, resources, and funding for projects. The School of Engineering and Applied Science assigns teams of 3 to 5 senior engineering students to each project and the student team presents a final engineering design, model and/or prototype, and oral presentation at the Design Exposition Day event in April to complete their capstone project.

College Description

Engineering College Description and Special Characteristics

The School offers five ABET-accredited undergraduate degree programs in Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering each emphasizing strong and rigorous technical curricula, combined with a broad liberal arts education. An additional undergraduate program includes an Engineering Management degree, linking engineering studies with business. A unique feature of all programs at Gonzaga University is the core curriculum which includes a thought and expression block with courses in English composition, speech and English literature, along with a well-structured sequence of courses in philosophy and theology. The strong and rigorous technical curricula combined with the University core emphasizing communication skills, critical thinking, and ethics enable GU graduates to adapt to an ever-changing engineering, social, political, and business environment. In addition, the School offers an on-line Graduate Program in Transmission and Distribution.
