Degree Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Requirements

Degree programs in engineering require 120 to 128 hours; a 2.0 overall grade point average as well as a 2.0 average in the major.

Master's Degree Requirements

Residency requirement: Two semesters which need not be consecutive. Master's with Thesis--GPA requirement: 3.00 on a 4.00 scale. Credit hours required for degree: 24 to 27 plus a 6-hour thesis. Thesis may be completed in absentia. Master's with Courses only--GPA requirement: 3.0 on a 4.00 scale. Credit hours required for degree: 33 to 36 hours including a written report in lieu of a thesis.

Doctoral Degree Requirements

Ph.D.'s in Biomedical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and
Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Engineering
General requirements: Approximately 60 hours of course work beyond bachelors degree or 30 hours beyond masters and a dissertation which may be completed in absentia. Residence requirement is two semesters which need not be consecutive. Submission of dissertation in whole or in part as a technical paper with student as senior (first) author may be required.
